Călineşti-Oaş is one of the communities belonging to the ethnographic and historical region of Oaș Country (in Romanian, Țara Oașului), part of Satu Mare County. The history of these places goes back to Neolithic times (the Stone Age – Starčevo Culture). The geography is dominated by plains spotted by small mountains who are in fact inactive volcanoes, these lands being the most typical volcanic area of Romania. The photos are taken from the Călinești-Oaș Dam, build on the Tur River. The views are from north to east and then to south.
