Some photos from my recent visit to Alba Iulia. Here is a general view of the core of the fortress (it is absolutely huge).
This is the Coronation Cathedral (above, the bell tower; below the cathedral).
And this is inside the Catholic Cathedral.
On the wall of the orthodox cathedral there is a writing:
“Aici, pe pământul trecătoarei glorii a lui Mihai Viteazul, domn peste Ardeal, s-a împlinit, după trei secole, menirea de a fi împreună a poporului român”.
In translation, this reads:
“Here, on the land of the transient glory of Michael the Brave, ruler over Transylvania, it has been fulfilled, after three centuries, the destiny of being together of the Romanian people”.
